UNITED WAY OF GREATER STARK COUNTY YOUNG LEADERS SOCIETY
Make your mark. Make a difference.
The United Way's Young Leaders Society is a group of passionate young professionals who come together to educate, engage and inspire individuals across Greater Stark County. We harness our time and talents through mentorship, fundraising and volunteerism to activate education initiatives and build a better community.
BECOME A MEMBER
Give your time and talent to education service projects and planning committees. Grow your network with community-minded young professionals. Guide the future leaders of Greater Stark County.
Education sets the foundation for the future, and it is the area where we believe we can make the greatest impact. As young leaders, our personal and professional success would not have been possible without support from mentors, teachers and advocates who helped us along the way. Now we're paying it forward for the next generation.
Prepare children to start school ready to learn and thrive
Support young people with high-quality, compassionate mentorship
Help students plan for success in a career or college
HOODIES FOR THE HOLIDAY
We've donated more than 300 hoodies, alumni letters and admissions packets to local high scool students, encouraging their dreams of attending college.
To help improve child literacy rates, we've set up three tiny libraries throughout Stark County. Anyone can borrow a book or add to the collection.
In an effort to promote literacy and put books into the hands of children in-need, Emerging Readers provides a simple opportunity for busy individuals or families to make an impact by providing a book donation.
In partnership with CAMP, Choices and Get Connected, YLS members engage with local students through year-round mentorship and networking opportunities.
Young Leaders Society is excited to announce that we have established a YLS Book Scholarship Fund. This brand-new scholarship is eligible to students in one of the programs that YLS partners with to provide mentorship support.
Join us for a night of dancing, fun and giving back. All proceeds go towards the first-annual YLS Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded to a graduating local high school student.
